Order Sony Alpha DSLR-A300K/N 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera (Gold)

This is my first DSLR, and I am very happy with it. I was looking into getting the Sony Alpha 330, but after doing research I found the the 330 actually has less features(it is lacking a port for a shutter release remote, manual white balance adjustment, and less buttons that make key features much harder to change) and is just simply smaller. So the 300 is really the same as the 330 with more features, and if you do some shopping, much cheaper(in my case over $100). Overall the 300 is a great camera but does have its pros and cons as all cameras.

Pros:
Live View-the live view system that sony uses is probably the best live view system on the market as it does not pause to capture the image. I love the live view, it saves me a ton of time using manual settings messing with aperature and exposure. My girlfriend has a 200 and spends a lot of time playing with settings and taking test photos. The live view is also very nice if you have glasses as well.

Image stabilization in camera-This is very nice because you don't have to shell out big bucks for image stablized lenses like with canon and nikon.

Uses Minolta Maxxim lenses-the ability to use Minolta Maxxim lenses means there is a ton of affordable used glass out there, many that are unchanged from the current sony offerings.

Takes good images-The 300 has a nice balance of speed and image quality.

Flip up/flip down lcd- Awesome feature that is usually only found in higher end cameras.

Cons:
High noise at ISO over 400- I won't shoot at ISO over 400 because of the noise.

Smart teleconverter-This feature is a neat idea but is nothing more than digital zoom and degrades the image so you really can't crop afterwards if you use this feature.

Lcd screen sticks out-The screen sticks out quite a bit when folded in, not a huge deal but will smudge from your face if you use the OFV, I would suggest the lcd screen protector made by sony so you don't scratch the screen.

Overall the Sony 300 is a great camera for the money, you get a lot more for less money then you would with some other manufacturers offerings.

Nikon D300 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens

Love my D300. Still learning all the features, but that is some of the fun. Images from it are great. It is large, especially with the optional battery grip, and somewhat heavy, but it has a good feel in my hands. The 18-200 mm lens give me a lot of range with just one lens. Good for travel.Get more detail about Nikon D300 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens.

Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12MP Digital SLR Camera (Black) with 8 GB Deluxe Accessory Kit Review

Love it. Started shooting as soon as the battery was charged. 5000+ snaps later; still love it.

I was torn when I bought it whether to go for this one or the 50D. I'm glad I bought this one as it has more brains than I do. The 50D would really be wasted on me. You can shoot right out of the box on full auto, or you can monkey with the priorities.

The lenses are great, though I tend to keep the tele-zoom on 90% of the time as most of what I shoot are birds and sundry other wildlife. I would love the 400 mm lens, but mucho $$$. Camera great for birds, especially in large file raw mode. Color reproduction is pretty much flawless, but I sometimes fiddle with the light and background colors.

The Canon software is adequate. I have not yet found the need to throw for photoshop. Probably won't ever. I'd rather save my $$$ for the 400 mm Canon lens. Get more detail about Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12MP Digital SLR Camera (Black) with 8 GB Deluxe Accessory Kit.

Nikon D90 Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm AF-S DX VR Nikkor Lens + 70-300mm G Zoom NIKKOR Lens (Brand New) + 16GB Cameta Bonus Accessory Kit This instant

I have had the priviledge of being a digital photographer for the past decade. I progressed through a series of cameras to attend travel to Bali and driving thirty thousand miles a year. I started DSLR with a D50 and was very pleased with the performance. I sold the D50 and moved on to the D60, selling the D50 and providing two lenses as a wedding present for my neice. The D60 had some great opportunities and gave some wonderful shots, but the lack of autofocus for my 50MM and my 70-300, was an irritation I could only resolve by moving on and the D90 was right there refurbished in a kit with two lenses a nice case for travel by automobile. I can find no flaws with the camera or the lenses after 4000 shots. My technique can continue to improve as I explore the possibilities with this fine DSLR. The D60 is now a backup or a loaner during shoots and at 10mp it does increase the viability of my crops, lacking as I do a 500mm budget, but it seems to be a transition camera for folks just getting into the DSLR arena. I miss the D50 and would prefer it as backup for my D90, they are each more full service instruments, but I can't enact the trade.

I put the D90 through paces I never imagined with the D50 or the D60, even though they were capable of many of them. The Live View, though using a load of battery power, was an incredible delight in remote shutter speed experiments on the tripod. If this is the last DSLR I ever buy, I will be a happy photographer.

I haven't fully processed all my shots yet, so I can't really rate the 18-105mm, it might be softer in some circumstance and I haven't found a way to get it to capture a clear moon, but I have a lot to learn. I am simply delighted to be learning it with my D90. Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + 4GB SD Card + EN-EL9 Battery + Case + Cameta Bonus Accessory Kit Immediately

I was just a little wary seeing only a few reviews on such a great deal. But I got it, and lo and behold it was awesome. Best value I found with Shopzilla, etc. Everything was in its original packaging, which was a relief given another review that said it wasn't. Everything was brand new, tiptop shape. Couldn't ask for a better deal. It even came earlier than I expected. There was an issue with the battery charger, but it wasn't the fault of the vendor, the charger was included in the camera box from Nikon. But Cameta took care of it when I sent them an email-- I'm currently waiting on my replacement to come in the mail.
Overall, good stuff!Get more detail about Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + 4GB SD Card + EN-EL9 Battery + Case + Cameta Bonus Accessory Kit.

Sony Alpha A700 12.24MP Digital SLR Camera with 16-105mm Lens Get it now!

I bought this cam from J&R through amazon and it came on time and intact. This camera is just what you would expect from a Sony product the best, feels like a mini tank but the lens kit is it not all that, still does the job though for simple shots. I had been thinking about getting a Nikon or Canon, but i thought that their getting old and since this is my first dslr i would go with the NEW! sony has about a 14 percent share in the dslr market now and you bet their gonna grow fast. Sony is always very innovative, making their mark on any platform they get into. on top of that its just an overall cheaper system to be married to at the moment. Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Silver Body Only) Buy Now

I bought the XTi last year and really enjoy using it. I have also owned an Olympus, but due to the lack of third party lenses and the expense of the Zuiko lenses for Olympus I decided to stay with Canon.
While many people say the kit lens is not great I've taken some wondeful photos with it as well as the 75-300MM lens. The settings are easy to use and I rarely use the auto mode. I prefer to use manual and take several of the same photos after tweaking the settings. I take landscape and animal photos. My cat is a frequent subject.
I have no compalints with the XTi although I do want to upgrade to the T1i or 50D in the future. For now I'm looking at lenses.
Canon makes great cameras and this XTi might make you want to let out a Rebel yell! :)Get more detail about Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Silver Body Only).

Olympus Evolt E500 8MP Digital SLR with Zuiko 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Digital SLR Lens Order Now

This was my first digital SLR, and it's a great camera, olympus gives you a lot of advanced options even in their entry level models, build quality it's a lot better than the equivalent canon or nikon offers, also zuiko lens are among the best on the market, even the kit lens are great, you can't say that about the other camera brands ;), i also have the newer e520 wich it's really cool to use with old manual OM zuiko lens with the liveview feature , but i think the Kodak sensor in the e500 it's far superior at lower isos, better colours and overall dinamyc range .
