I can see no reason that Canon charges so much for the replacement toner cartridges and drum. I paid $600 for a printer 18 months ago and since then have spent that much replacing the drum and the toner cartridges. Also, Canon has some 'chip' in the cartridge that when it is low throws out an 'alarm' and will not let you print in color-is that cheesy or what?Get more detail about Canon EP-87M Magenta Laser Toner Cartridge.

Canon i560 Desktop Photo Printer Buy Now
I've had my Canon i560 for just over seven years now. It's been through six moves. It's been dropped. It's been stepped on. It's been spilled on. I got mad at it once for not responding (this only happened once btw) and I pulled the ink cartridge along it's track in a manner that I was convinced I broke it by the sound it made. Nope. It just dusted itself off, reset and did whatever it needed to do.
I purchased this printer because of the black ink PPM speed and I've never regreted it. I'm sure there are faster ones out there now but I don't care. Sure, some of the pieces have snapped off but I really don't take care of my things very well and the fact that it's lasted this long is amazing to me. I've gone through two laptops and three computers with this thing and it lives to tell about it.
That's allGet more detail about Canon i560 Desktop Photo Printer.

Canon PowerShot G7 10MP Digital Camera with 6x Image-Stabilized Optical Zoom Decide Now
Avoid Cannon. Build quality is horrendous. No good reason caused this camera quit working. I bought the Panasonic LX3 as a replacement and will avoid any and all Cannon products. Lowest Price Canon VIXIA HF11 AVCHD 32 GB Flash Memory Camcorder w/12x Optical Zoom
This is a very very nice camcorder. I bought it about 6 months ago (Dec 2009) from B&H for $600. Canon has since introduced new generation products. Low Price Canon PowerShot S1 IS 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 10x Image Stabilized Optical Zoom
We bought the same camera 4 yrs ago when our first daughter was born. Used it like proud parents! We then used it again on our second child and on many many vacations, school events, birthdays, etc. The original camera was sturdy and gave us the best quality pictures we could have ever wanted. Well, it finally broke down and was too expensive to fix. I found a used on on Amazon and was a bit reluctant but for $110, what the heck. I was very pleased with the packaging and quality of the camera. It looks like new and works better than our first camera. Best camera for the money!Get more detail about Canon PowerShot S1 IS 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 10x Image Stabilized Optical Zoom.
Save Canon PowerShot SD900 Titanium 10MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom
Like and earlier, featured review, I purchased this camera to replace the 400. The titanium case is beautiful and I have never had it fail to boot. But the constantly irritating problems are two:
1. If you zoom out fully or zoom in fully, the shot button becomes unusable. You have to undo the zoom just a little bit in order to "free up" the button. But when you do that, the zoom frequently has a mind of its own and will continue to zoom so you have to start over.
2. Flash shots in either auto mode or manual can cause "blackout" as the camera tries to compensate for an over-exposed shot. Instead of getting a slightly washed out shot or one where you want to illuminate recessed areas of an item with a light colored or reflective surface, the result is a shot far too dark to salvage with even Photoshop.
Frequently, while trying to access settings, nothing happens. Turning off and turning on will not help. Removing the battery and reinserting it generally solves the problem.
When I spoke to a representative I was told that there might be a circuitry problem, and like another reviewer, I was to pack it up, ship it out and for around $130.00 they might be able to solve the problem.
When it works, under normal circumstances, it takes great shots. Clear and well defined. The upper ISO settings are grainy. One of the appealing advertised features was the ability to capture items in motion. If it only loaded fast enough. Takes good movies but I didn't purchase a still camera for its movie capability.Get more detail about Canon PowerShot SD900 Titanium 10MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.

Discount Canon Pixma iP3500 Photo Printer (2170B002)
Had for about 6 weeks or more and am very happy with my choice. A feature I didn't think about when I bought it is that when not in use , just pull the paper and it folds up with 2 lids or flaps as solid as a bread box and that keeps dust and my cat from walking all over it.Get more detail about Canon Pixma iP3500 Photo Printer (2170B002).

Cheap Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001)
I have had the Pro-9000 for a couple of years now, and it is a great printer when it works. The problem is that the print head often gets clogged, or print cartridges have problems. I use only official Cannon cartridges, but they still have a high failure rate. Many times, the chip will read empty before the ink is really used up. Fortunately, you can force an override by holding down the resume/cancel button when the error occurs. I have developed the ritual that everytime I am going to print a photo, I first run the nozzle check utility. This indicates if all 8 colors are printing cleanly. Most times one color is not printing at all, or several have streaks indicating that the nozzle is clogged. In that case, I run the nozzle cleaning function. This usually doesn't work but it does use up lots of ink. The next step is to run the deep cleaning function which also generally does not work (8 times out of 10) and uses up more ink. Finally, I take out the print head and soak it in 95% or better alcohol solution, and then dry with compressed air. I estimate that at least half of my ink cartridges get consumed in cleaning and trying to get all 8 colors to print cleanly. I need to budget 2 hours or more whenever I intend to make a print to go through this ritual, and then in some cases after all of the above nothing works so I give up and start over the next time I need to print a photo. I have had it, but the problem is I have heard that many high quality photo printers have these problems due to ink quality and the tiny size print head nozzles. Nevertheless I am on a search for a more reliable large format high quality photo printer.Get more detail about Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001).
Buying Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One Photo Printer (Gray)
Recently purchased this multi-purpose printer. Actually was a purchase to replace in-kind
printer which experienced mechanical damage. Only negative aspect of the original MP-160 was, in my opinion, the ink cartridge replacement costs. I find Canon cartride replacements, very expensive. Not much experience, with printer ink, but found sources to buy remanufactured cartridges and ultimately, a re-fill mail center, whcih reduced the ink costs in half.
The original MP-160 was destroyed by an pen falling into the paper feed, and unaware ot this incident, I attempted to operate the unit and caused mechanical damage. I ordered an
exact replacement (used) and am quite satisfied with my purchase. My printing requirements are small and am not certain what the reliability and efficiency of this particular printer would be under heavy service; but as an average consumer, I could recommend this unit to all.

Buy Canon HR10 AVCHD 3.1MP High Definition DVD Camcorder with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom
Actually, it probably is outdated. The DVD format is not the most efficient way to go. But the quality of the shots I've gotten with this camera are awesome for the price I paid. I'm willing at this point to get the quality and do a little extra work in the post-production phase to convert the video.
It took a bit a bit to figure out the best way to get the video, in either SD or HD format off the disks and onto our editing machine. We used Any Video Converter (Free) to convert the files to a more editable format.
The quality of the camera when used with proper lighting is amazing for a single CMOS camera. It does have issues with poor lighting. It will become grainy, especially when working under red lights (like what we had in our haunted house).
The limited time that can be captured (especially under HD) per disk can be a problem if you just want to shoot all day long and not worry about changing disks. If you want to make webisodes/independent movies its not really that big of a problem if you manage disk space adequately and use DL disks.
There are also plenty of 37mm lenses that can screw onto the front of this thing but once it is attached BE CAREFUL. Its not a solid mounting system like you'd get with a prosumer/professional camera and I could image a good wack on the lens breaking the camera threads, lens and camera housing quite easily.
The two biggest things that I don't like are the lack of any support on Canon's website. I would have liked to have seen a firmware update available by now that would make increase the battery life, add additional presets, or improve focus detection. Not that any of those things are terrible now, but firmware updates can always make those things better.
The other problem that I have with the camera is that to capture pictures you'll need to buy a miniSD card. Not SD, SDHC, or even microSD...but miniSD. A dead format for cards. So if you buy this camera don't think that the plethora of SD cards you have laying around will cover you. You'll need to buy a miniSD card or two from Amazon at the same time.

Purchase Canon Pixma iP4500 Photo Inkjet Printer (2171B002)
I bought this printer to replace a previous Canon model which had been serving me faithfully for the past 3 years, then developed a fatal fault and refused to function further. My primary print jobs are basic everyday documents, the occasional photo on glossy paper (always beautiful and FAST)and, most important of all, printable DVDs. I used a 3rd-party print tray and online instructions to enable the hidden feature within older Canon Pixma models.
After discovering that Canon has unfortunately discontinued this very important feature from their product line, I had to find a replacement NOW. The last model supporting disc printing is the Pixma iP4500. Originally, they retailed for about $99. Now they are worth their weight in gold. I barely managed to obtain one, having to pay almost 3 times the original price to get it. A dealer had some unopened stock remaining in inventory, and I got lucky.
The other great reason to own one of these gems is the ink cartridges. They are easily refillable, high capacity (newer cartridges have 30% LESS in them!) and their ink-monitoring chips can be defeated or reset. Just use quality 3rd-party ink, syringe-fill thru a small hole drilled in the lower rear area of the cartridge, and save major $$$ on consumables. No mess, no regrets! No clogs or leaks. I use Hobbicolors inks purchased via eBay, very economical.
Currently, no other manufacturer except Epson offers a home printer with disc print capabilities. With printable DVD media such as Taiyo-Yuden Watershield(tm) discs Taiyo Yuden WaterShield - 50 x DVD-R - 4.7 GB 16x - white - ink jet printable surface - spindle - storage media, paper labels and smudged inks are a thing of the past. If you've never tried them, these glossy, waterproof discs are perfect for your disc needs.Get more detail about Canon Pixma iP4500 Photo Inkjet Printer (2171B002).
