I purchased my first Canon BJC-85 10 years ago. I was pursuing my undergraduate degree and needed something that I could take on the run. I have never been disappointed. I have printed out my college papers, presentations and anything else that I needed to print out with no problems - EVER. I am a stickler for professionalism and everything that I have ever printed out on this printer has held up to that standard - Professional looking. You would never know that it was printed off of a portable printer. I have always received high praises on the beauty of my handouts for my class projects.

This printer has traveled with me so much that it requires a passport of its' own. It is light and reliable.

A month ago, my first Canon BJC-85 stopping feeding my papers. That's 10 years after I purchased it. Did I mention that this has been my primary printer since I purchased it? So, after 10 years of realiable service, I had to purchase another printer. I am a creature of habit so I didn't want to try anything new. I went on the hunt for another printer (BJC-85). Imagine my luck to find one on Ebay (new) for $180.00. Which is a far cry from the $529.99 that I found on Amazon.com for a new one. It was new in the box... When it arrived I immediately hooked it up and it worked like a charm!

Purchase Canon PIXMA iP90v Photo Inkjet Printer (2238B002)

I bought the canon ip80, the canon ip90 and finally the canon ip90v because of the portability. All of them failed long before the should have. I will never buy a canon product again. They are marketed to be mobile but they cannot survive the simplest trips. At this point (after 4 pritners in a year) it is cheaper to go back and use the business center at the hotel no matter what it costs. I like everything about the camera. Easy to use. Good picture quality. And it runs on 2 AA batteries. I have yet to change the batteries 10 days into our trip, although obviously the battery life will be shorter with use of the flash. But the camera takes good indoor shots with the flash disabled.

I purchased this camera because of the eye piece,since ive had problems using other type focusing systems.I found the camera operation to be very complex.During my initial testing of the camera the pictures that I took were of very poor quality when I reviewed them on the camera lcd After taking 8 test pictures the camera stopped working. I attempted to get it working again by contacting cannon but I had no luck. The camera has been returned to cannon for repair. This camera is not for the average senior citizen.

I have owned my Canon PowerShot A640 for many years now and have been very happy with it. Great picture quality, good battery life, excellent display, fits in my right hand perfectly, and the 1Gig SanDisk ultraII memory chip I have in it holds a heck of a lot of pictures and it hasn't lost any files. Downloading pictures to my Mac laptops [OS 10.4.11 and OS 10.6.3] via a USB cable is a snap and it's totally compatible with iPhoto .

Others have written about the A640s features and impressions, but I wanted to document my experience with Canon's repair service. A couple of months ago I stupidly placed the camera loosely on the rear seat of our SUV - when I opened the door at our destination naturally it fell out onto the hard pavement. The only damage thou was to a tiny plastic hook on the body of the camera which holds the battery door closed (the hinged door and it's latch mechanism were fine) but it made the camera totally useless - the door must be closed properly to power the camera.

Hating to give up on this fine unit I checked out the Canon website and found it's repair center. One nominal charge covered diagnosis and return shipping. I sent the A640 in, received an email a few days later confirming that they received my camera and giving me the final repair cost. The repaired camera was returned to me within days and I am totally satisfied. In total it took 6 business days and the actual repair cost was only a few dollars. Highly recommend them.

Definitely using Canon repair has extended the life of my A640 and saved me the high cost of a replacement purchase. Not too many consumer electronics can even be repaired these days.

After shooting with a Nikonos 35mm film camera for years, I finally decided to go digital. This case is easy to use and I had no leaks. It's slightly bouyant, which is a plus in my view. If you throw it in the water it will plunge downward and then slowly rise to the surface. The weight set (for me) is unnecessary. Picture quality was excellent. Now to the problems... The only time I shoot underwater is while snorkeling, mainly in the Caribbean. So, we are talking bright sun for the most part, and often coming from over the shoulder. And that can make seeing the LCD screen--and composing a shot--tough. It meant that at times I was 'pointing and hoping' rather than 'pointing and shooting,' especially if there was little contrast between the subject and the background. (It's impossible to use the camera's minuscule viewfinder as an alternative.) The other issue is that the thumb lever that controls the mode switch (auto, manual, video, etc.) is very easy to move inadvertently while simply gripping the camera--especially when diving to get a shot. I had to consciously recheck the position of the lever by feel before every shot--it would be great if the lever could be locked in position. That said, this is a quality product and I do not regret the purchase.
