This is my first DSLR. It seems I've made a great choice. The pictures it takes are beautiful in automatic mode and I'm enjoying playing around with the manual settings. Plus I can screw up all of the settings while I am playing and jump back to taking easy photos by turning the mode dial back to the auto setting.
